Our mechanical contracting company offers a variety of services including Commercial, Industrial and Residential Plumbing, HVAC-R, Electrical and Sheet Metal Fabrication. We encompass both residential new construction and remodels, and light commercial work, with all jobs located throughout West Michigan. Wages are negotiable based upon experience.

Qualifications:

  • Team player who is highly motivated with a positive attitude
  • Confident and responsible working independently as well as in a group setting
  • Proficiency with plumbing installations as they pertain to common residential, commercial, and/or industrial practices.
  • Knowledge of State and local Plumbing Codes with the ability to make on-the-job applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing drawings.
  • Ability to fully understand and implement all job safety requirements.
  • Physical demands include the ability to safely lift 50 pounds or more.

Requirements:

  • Minimum (2) years actively working in the plumbing trade under the supervision and direction of a licensed plumber.
  • Journeyman license is not required but is a plus – experience is a must.
  • Valid Michigan Driver’s License

Organizing and reviewing project submittals. Responsible for ordering, receiving and tracking equipment and material. Staying current with closeout documents and as-builts. Providing support to our Project Manager and Management.

  • Assist in organizing bid opportunities, review public and private invitations to bid.
  • Prepare recommendations for project proposals based on project size, disciplines and schedule.
  • Assist in preparing job estimates.
  • Establish and maintain job budgets.
  • Perform material take-off to establish cost estimates with good knowledge of all project requirements, equipment and materials.
  • Prepare schedule of values for job.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and place orders for all equipment, materials and any other items required on jobs.
  • Prepare all product submittals, track status and maintain electronic files.
  • Coordinate delivery of equipment, materials and any other items.
  • Solicit quotes for all required rental equipment, and coordinate delivery.
  • Receive all equipment, materials and any other items ordered.
  • Stay current with closeout documents and as-builts, prepare close-out manuals per project requirements.
  • Review materials and subcontracted labor invoices and approve for payment.
  • Work with Suppliers/Subcontractors. Maintain relationships and ensure best pricing and discounts are implemented.

Requirements

  • Perform take-offs of scaled drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with MS office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project] and PDF files.
  • Computer skills with estimating software experience preferred, not required.
