We are seeking an experienced, skilled pipefitter to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for planning and installing all piping systems for our commercial and industrial projects. You should have ample experience in welding, joining, and installing a variety of piping systems, as well as installing manual and electric safety valves.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all building and safety codes and local and state regulations are met
  • Read blueprints, plan piping system layouts and configure piping systems
  • Precisely cut and weld metals for hydronic and gas piping
  • Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment
  • Thread, weld, solder piping together
  • Coordinate with job site foreman for hole placements in walls and bulkheads
  • Ensure pipe sizes, hangers, supports, and joint needs for accurate flow
  • Cut and alter piping to ensure correct fitment

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeship is required
  • Two years of experience as a pipefitter or pipefitter apprenticeship – preferred
  • Welding certification – preferred
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations with regards to piping systems
  • Valid Michigan Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
